Flower Alley filly wins on debut

Wilgerbosdrift’s high-class resident sire Flower Alley came up with an eye catching debut winner on Thursday.
Flower Alley’s two-year-old daughter Miss Novax made the perfect start to her career when she won at the Vaal.
The Lucky Houdalakis trained filly, who provided her jockey Craig Zackey with a 100% strike rate on Thursday, stormed home to win the 4Racing Welcomes You Maiden Juvenile Plate (1200m) by a neck.

Bred by Reed Valley Stud, Miss Novax is out of the Captain Al mare Leeway.
Thursday’s winner is thus bred on the same Flower Alley/Captain Al cross as former South African Horse Of The Year Princess Calla.

Her G1 Travers Stakes winning sire Flower Alley is the sire of 38 stakes winners including champions I’ll Have Another, Lukes Alley, My Wandy’s Girl and the aforementioned Princess Calla.
To date, Flower Alley runners have earned more than $48 million in stakes.
A son of Distorted Humor and hailing from the same family as Lyphard, Flower Alley has a single lot on offer at the upcoming National Yearling Sale.
